My research seeks to explain the processes underlying human learning and behavior. I am particularly interested in whether learning is better explained by "low-level" associative processes or "higher-order" reasoning processes.

My research interests include generalisation of associative learning, cue competition effects (conditioned inhibition, blocking) in causal learning, and the implicit/explicit distinction.

My current research focus is on the development of digital CBT interventions that are effective and engaging for young people. More broadly, I am interested in understanding the cognitive, behavioural and biological mechansims involved in the development and maintenance of psychopathology, and their role in differences in psychopathology between men and women.

I am mostly interested in human associative learning and cognitive neuroscience. My experiments usually focus on cue competition phenomena, as blocking or interference between cues. These phenomena have been shown crucial in order to know how human learning works. Recently I started to combine classical measures of learning with other techniques (ERPs, dot-probe task) for a better understanding of the role of attention during associative learning.
