My research seeks to explain the processes underlying human learning and behavior. I am particularly interested in whether learning is better explained by "low-level" associative processes or "higher-order" reasoning processes.

My research interests include generalisation of learning, cue competition effects (conditioned inhibition, blocking) in associative learning, and the implicit/explicit distinction.

I am mostly interested in human associative learning and cognitive neuroscience. My experiments usually focus on cue competition phenomena, as blocking or interference between cues. These phenomena have been shown crucial in order to know how human learning works. Recently I started to combine classical measures of learning with other techniques (ERPs, dot-probe task) for a better understanding of the role of attention during associative learning.
